The Kitchen

Chef de Silva makes magic in the kitchen.

Guests simply pay the cost of groceries—your chef is provided. Many guests find themselves eating at the villa every night delighting in Chef de Silva’s vast and varied menu that rarely repeats a curry.

Cassia Hill Rice & Curry.

The supper most guests request more than once. A variety of vegetable curries arranged around your choice of seafood, chicken, beef or pork. Dhal, coconut sambol, papadoms, and rice accompany every Sri Lankan feast, and consider finishing with a tropical passionfruit crumble.

Chef de Silva adapts the heat to suit guests’ desired spice level; vegetarian rice and curry is prepared with equal ceremony. An Indian-style variation is available on request, with dosa, sambaru, and green coconut sambal.

A Day at the Table

Breakfast, lunch, and supper.

The menu is a starting point. Guests select one main per course for the group; the chef is flexible with substitutions, allergies, and children’s preferences. The cost usually works out to roughly US$20–25 per person per day for three meals.

“The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka.”
