Six bedrooms on a working tea and cinnamon smallholding. Full staff on hand to serve you. Eight minutes to the coast. A world away from life’s burdens.
No neighbouring rooms. No other guests. No lobby. Cassia Hill is not a hotel with villas but a villa run like a hotel, and it is entirely yours for the length of your stay.
Under the direction of renowned designer and hotelier George Cooper of Kahanda Kanda, the main villa has been renovated to hold four luxurious bedrooms and expansive verandahs around a first-floor infinity pool. A lower house holds two further bedrooms. Both sit in a tropical garden on a hillside of tea and cinnamon, with sweeping views towards the south coast.
Experience Chef de Silva’s acclaimed cooking. Breakfast on the verandah — cinnamon French toast, hoppers with pol sambol, fresh pineapple, mango and papaya. Supper is our signature Cassia Hill Rice and Curry: a gorgeous spread of half a dozen curries — your choice of prawn, crab, fish, or chicken, and vegetables with papadoms, chutnies, and sambols to accompany.
Many guests find themselves wanting to eat at the villa every night.
Cassia Hill is not just a house, but a working tea and cinnamon smallholding. Guests are warmly invited to join in the experience — plucking tea leaves, watching them dry, peeling cinnamon bark in long curling sheets of fragrance — and to taste tea that was on the bush that morning.
“A magical few days here. The photos don’t do it justice: It’s simply amazing. Thank you to the team for being so wonderful. Would love to come back!”— Louise · From Airbnb guest reviews
